About Mark

mark-walker-basketball-coachMy name is Mark Walker and my involvement in basketball now has spanned some over 30 years. In that time I have experienced so much as a player, administrator, spectator, parent, coaching director and finally my greatest passion which is coaching the game itself. My coaching career has followed so many paths over the last 15 years as a professional coach. I have built three thirty plus team junior programs, including my club Central City Breakers, working with thousands of young athletes.

My greatest moment in coaching came in 1996 with the Australian Men’s Wheelchair Basketball Team. This team won the Gold Medal at the Paralympic Games in Atlanta Georgia beating the USA on its home soil in the semi finals, on the way to the title. My coaching career as been quite diverse, working with juniors, seniors, both domestic and elite players, players with intellectual, physical and hearing disabilities.
